Introducing... YOUBOOK or FACETUBE!

During one of my many, many visits to facebook recently one of my friends had this to say on her status update...

" My laptop failed for a second and there was a mish-mash of youtube and facebook on it"

Prompting me to state how awesome that would be, then another friend jumped in with suggested names, all fun and games you see..

But then i got to thinking, " actually, how good would that be..the best of facebook mixed with all the wonders of you-tube?". The way I have it in my head is with users updating their status's but with short (maybe ten second) video clips instead of just words and pictures. you could argue that by posting video's you could already do this but I see it in a more efficient streamlined version of you-tube by having  the user highlight the users name to play the video. This gives the user's friends a more visceral way of describing what they are doing. Essentially it would be like a having a t.v with each friend having a channel of their own. By adding geo-tagging and related videos you could combine other popular apps such as four-square and Go-wallah, this would also give visual proof to your location check-ins.

Videos would remain on the user's walls and friends could visually "catch up" with them. The future is complete social network integration anyway so why not carry the current trend a step further
This idea isn't that original but it could become a reality quicker than you think.
